A little history ...
Born a stone's throw from Sweet Carnlough Bay, Co. Antrim in Northern Ireland, I made the long journey to Carrickfergus, County Antrim at the age of 5 and set sail for the shores of America at 24 (in a Boeing 707).
In those early days in Ireland, I was dragged out of bed at many a late hour to play guitar at an impromptu singsong 'up the street' for my parents and friends, but I harboured no ambition to become a musician. Later however, inspired by local Chicago Irish entertainers, I bought my Martin guitar in 1976 and began my musical journey at the Irish Mill in Mundelein, Illinois (which is still there in spite of me and my good friend Dennis Cahill).
But enough about Dennis :-)
Most of my music is Irish but with a fair smattering of folk and country. My repertoire includes rebel songs and Irish ballads, John Prine and Jimmy Buffet, Wilburys, Willie and Waylon ..... and, of course, a few Elvis songs.
I play acoustic guitar and bass pedals, with a few drum tracks to help me along the way.
Recent venues include McGonigal's Pub, Kitty O'Shea's, Irish American Heritage Center, the Curragh, Middleton's, McNamara's, etc.
I reside in Illinois.
That's it !!
